Folios 308-309. Letter from Charles Bond, Clerk to the Guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission.

Bond is presenting a request from a majority of the guardians for consent to the sale of Chardstock workhouse.

He encloses an extract showing that the property is held by Copy of Court Roll under the manor of Chardstock. It was first purchased from Samuel Apsey in 1781 who held it for certain lives now deceased.

In 1803 a reversionary grant was made to the parish officers for three lives who are named and living. This is the only document relating to the title.

The extract names William Leat, John Bentley and Ferdinand Bond, and [Issac Pryor] with [John Pryor], Charles Bond and John Bond.
