Banana Bread

2/3 Cup sugar
1/3 Cup shortening
2 eggs well beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup ripe bananas
2 Cups Bisquit (Bisquick) mix

Mix well
350 
about 1 hour 10 minutes

Blueberry Bread
from the kitchen of Sue O'Connor

1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 Cups flour (sift)
1 1/2 cups blueberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts

bake 350 for 40 minutes
Top with...

1 Tablespoon melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
cinnamon

bake 200 for 10 minutes

Pumpkin Bread

1 can pumpkin

4 eggs
2 2/3 cup shortening
2 cups pumpkin
2/3 cup water
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves -ground
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins

Bake 50 minutes at 350
grease pan 3 pans

Pumpkin Nut Biscuits

Mix together
2 cups flour
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, + allspice
mix in 
1/2 cup cold butter
1/2 cup black walnuts
combine
2/3 cup pumpkin
1/2 cup buttermilk
add to mixture and mix til a stiff dough
Roll or pat out 1/2 inch thick on floured board
cut 2 inch biscuits bake 450 for 10 minutes

Strawberry Bread

recipe from Irene Konyndyk

1 cup oleo/shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. each of salt, vanilla, lemon juice
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup sour cream (I use sour milk 1/2 cup milk + 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar)
3 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup strawberry preserves/jam
1 tsp. red food coloring

Blend oleo, sugar, vanilla, salt, + juice. Beat in eggs, on at a time. Dissolve soda in sour cream; add to egg mixture. Fold in flour, preserves, + nuts. Add coloring... or do this earlier, after flour, before preserves and nuts. Pour batter into two greased pans. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 (or until done) Recipe may be doubled.

Zucchini Bread

3 eggs
1 cup oil
3 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup nuts
2 cups grated zucchini
1 cup raisins

bake 350 for 1 hour in greased 9x5 pan

Mama's Brown Bread Recipe

1 1/2 cup water 
1/2 package raisins - boil 10 minutes and cool
2 Tablespoons shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat shortening, sugar, eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with liquid from raisin. Add vanilla. Bake in greased tin cans half full and make two tins at 350 for 1 hour.
