St. Matthias’s church, the Rev. Henry S. McDuffy, rector. —There has been placed in this church a beautiful Litany desk, the gift of Mrs. Albert Smith, of New York. The desk is a memorial to her son, the inscription being “In memory of Clarence Albert Smith, who died May 6, 1896. Aged 22 years.” Beneath these words appears the text: ” ‘I thank my God upon every remembrance of thee’— Mother” The main portion of the desk is of brass and the top is of oak.
