Elizabeth was born to Teunis and Elizabeth Hagaman. She married Richard Sheldon in 1859 or 1860 according to the 1860 census. At that time, she and Richard were living with her parents. By the 1865 New York census, they were living apart and continued to do so. There are no records of divorce.
I have not found a Will for Elizabeth Sheldon yet, but according to the published list of potential inheritors, her estate must have been substantial. She had no brothers and sisters and no children.
