Eljeanne “Jean” Swart

age 88, of Lakeland, Florida, went home to Glory on April 21, 2009. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on May 18, 1920 to John and Minnie Roetman. Jean married John Swart on Oct. 25, 1941. The Lord blessed them with two daughters, Lynelle and Judy. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John and one daughter, Lynelle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and devoted herself to her family. Jean was an active member of Home Acres Reformed Church for over forty years sharing her love of the Lord with her beautiful voice in the choir as well with special music. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Vegter; one brother, John (Phyllis) Roetman; one brother-in-law, Robert (Dolores) Swart; one sister-in-law, Darlene (Kenneth) Poeder; two grandchildren, Lucinda (Mark) Oppenhuizen and Eric (Satomi) Nabors; two great-grandchildren, Alicia Nabors and Chase Nabors; several step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Home Acres Reformed Church, 21 Murray St., Kentwood, MI on May 18th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Garden of Gospels at Rosedale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Home Acres Reformed Church.
