was born in 1821 in Germany to yet unknown parents. He married Emilie Erichson, November 24, 1846 in Potsdam, Preußen (Prussia/Germany).
Herman immigrated to the United States in 1860. He and his family settled in the Detroit, Michigan area. He operated a combination Saloon/ Grocery store. Later in life he became an Artist/Photographer.
Herman became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States in 1872.
Herman died in Detroit, Michigan, August 26, 1885 at the age of 64 of Rheumatism according to the death certificate.
