*Based on the death record, which is confirmed by the gravestone inscription, John would have been born May 30, 1804.  It would seem the date of May 13 is incorrect.  Also, Westerlo, New York did not become a town until 1815.  It did not exist at the time of John’s birth, therefore he could not have been born there.  This is an example of projecting current situations onto the past.
