age 73, went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, April 28. Pat was a 1959 graduate of Wheaton College in Elementary Education. She was an active member of Sparta Baptist Church, teaching both children and adults, and served as church librarian for many years. She was preceded in death by her father, E. Raymond Nelson, and her mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Edward Duff; in-laws, Sheryl and Serge Bagdasarianz.. She is survived her beloved husband of over 52 years, Bruce; children, Mark and Robin Twiest of Marshall, Doug and Dawn Twiest of Sparta, Wendy Twiest of Ada; her grandchildren, Eric and Nicole Twiest, Ryan Twiest, Ashley and Aaron Osborn, Kyle and Amber Twiest, Austen and Cassie Twiest, Kara and Lily Twiest; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Zachary and Scarlette; In-laws, David and Carolyn Twiest of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Brian and Loretta Twiest of Grand Rapids, and Laurie and Terry Grear of Parker, Colorado; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2 at 1:00 pm at The Sparta Baptist Church with Rev. Nate Wagner officiating. Private family interment at Algoma Township Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the Sparta Baptist Church on Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm, and on Wednesday at the Church one hour prior to the service.
