APSEY, THEODORE Theodore "Ted" W. Apsey, of Mesa Arizona, passed away on December 26, 2013. Ted was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he grew up with his two brothers Robert and Roger Apsey. He was a graduate (1948) of South High School in Grand Rapids. Following high school Ted enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. After his military service Ted returned to Michigan to work as a TV repairman, fueling his interest in electronics, then after a few years, migrated the family west with brief stays in Dayton, Ohio and Granada Hills, California before finally settling in Arizona in 1965. Ted worked for many years in Arizona in the electronics aerospace industry, as a "Technical Writer", for such companies as: Motorola, Goodyear Aerospace and Garrett AiResearch. In the 1970's Ted started his own business, aided by his wife Nancy, called "Apsey Custom Cases" where he built mainly custom jewelry display cases for many of the Indian Jewelry dealers in the Phoenix metro area and around the state. Ted built his own home in Fountain Hills, Arizona in 1983 but he and his wife retired to Prescott, Arizona to build an even better home in 1986. Ted made several animated movies with his computer skills, which appeared as public service programs in the Prescott Arizona area. They eventually moved from Prescott to Dewey, Arizona but returned to Mesa, Arizona in 2011 to be closer to family. Ted is survived by his wife Nancy; four children, Gary, Valorie Thompson, Linda and Thomas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Donations in honor of Ted to Lewy Body Dementia Association and/or Hospice of the Valley appreciated.
