FORMER PRESIDENT OF EAST G.R. DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS John E. Apsey, Sr., aged 62, resident of East Grand Rapids for 32 years and former village president, died yesterday. He had been ill since Jan. 1. Mr. Apsey was born in Canada, and came to Lowell with this parents when 6 months old, living in Paris township for 30 years. He had conducted a meat market and grocery for 15 years. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. George Hopp, Mrs. Henry Koopman, Mrs. John Roetman, Mrs. Frank Miller, Miss Margaret Apsey and Miss Jeanette Apsey; and six sons, John Apsey, Jr., William, Arthur, Charles, James and Robert Apsey. Funeral services will be held at the home of his son, John E. Apsey, Jr., 221 Carlton ave., SE., Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. APSEY-- John E. Apsey, sr., aged 62 years, of 2218 Wealthy st., S. E., died Thursday afternoon at Miller Sanitarium. He is survived by a widow, six sons and six daughters. Also two sisters, Mrs. James DeYoung of East Grand Rapids and Mrs. Austin Schiedel of Coopersville and one brother, Alvin Apsey of Caledonia. Funeral services will be held at the residence of John E. Apsey, jr., at 221 Carlton-av., S. E., at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery.
